Falcon Lacrosse hosts Bellarmine for senior day and regular season finale

SENIOR SO LONG
Nine Falcons will be honored for the senior day before facing each other. Quentin Carlile, Brenden Crouse, Chase Douglas, Cole Grindberg, august johnson, Christian Marshall, Brian Michel, Ian Mullins and Caden Wolfson will last dress as the Falcons at Falcon Stadium. The Class of 2022 competed in the 2019 regular season SOCON co-championship, appeared in three conference tournaments and had 25 wins in their four years despite a shortened season in 2020.

-The Falcons are 11-3 in the all-time series against the Knights
-AF is on an eight-game winning streak since 2014

THE LAST TIME THEY PLAYED
An impressive fourth quarter gave the Air Force an 8-6 victory over Bellarmine in the Falcons’ Southern Conference opener at Frazier Stadium. august johnson scored a game-high and career-best four goals on eight shots. Team co-captain Quincy Peene took six shots in the day, including one converted into a goal.

AND AFTER?
The Falcons will await seedings for the 2022 ASUN Lacrosse Tournament held in Huntsville, Alabama, May 5-7. Utah won the conference with a 4-0 league record. Robert Morrise secured second place at 3-1. Air Force and Bellarmine are currently tied 2-2 and will play for the third seed.

ENGRAVING A LEGACY
junior striker Brandon Dodd hit the 50-point milestone after their eight-point game against Cleveland State (April 16). Dodd has 64 points this season, which ties him for second in the program’s all-time record for single-season points. Mike Crampton (’14) holds the program standard with 66 points in a single season. His 44 goals this year put him second in the program’s record books, following Mike Crampton who holds the program standard with 48 goals in a season.

50 BURGERS TRACKING
Senior Intermediate Brenden Crouse has 49 points this season. He’s been on a 17-game point streak since April 17, 2021. Crouse’s 35 goals this season puts him seventh in the single-season record book. If Crouse scores one more point, it would be the first time the AF has finished a season with two players with 50 or more points since joining the Div. I do lacrosse.

MAKE NUMBERS
Brandon Dodd has nine hat tricks this season, including eight in the last nine games. He scored two hat tricks twice and has three five-goal games. He leads ASUN in averaging five points per game, a mark that ranks him eighth in the nation. His 3.67 goals per game is also the most by any ASUN player, ranking him second in the country.

Brenden Crouse is fifth in ASUN in points per game (3.77) and has five hat tricks this season. He scored a career-high six goals at Mercer on March 19.

IN CAGE
Air Force Junior Goalie Jason Rose is averaging 12.31 saves per game so far this season and has a conference-best save percentage of .541 in seven wins over the last nine games. He had a personal best 21 saves against Bryant (March 12), breaking his previous season record of 18 against No. 12 Denver (February 12). He had 14 saves against back-to-back champions No. 1 Virginia, in the season opener.

D-UP
Falcon Kingpin Defender Quentin Carlile, a pre-season All-ASUN selection, leads the team with 30 turnovers and 39 rushes. His 30 CTs are the single-season program record. Despite a shortened 2020 season due to COVID, Carlile has 84 career turnovers, tying his former teammate and honorable mention All-American brandon jones (’19) for first place.

Carlile, the team captain, is assisted by Air Force sophomores Chris Bardac and james chestnut. Bardak has 14 CTs while Chastain has 10. Bardak is showing his utility with four goals and 25 GB to his name. When the trio are on the court together, they are good for more than a clear .700 percentage.

TO THE
Falcon team co-captain Brian Michel has taken the majority of attempts this season, winning 101 of 115 (.468). He has emerged victorious in six of the last nine encounters, highlighted by an impressive 8-of-11 head-to-head win over Canisius. He has 53 ground balls to his credit this season. At Mercer, Michael landed a career-high 12 rushed balls while going 14-25 one-on-one at center X. The AF continues Braden Gaab threw his hat into the mix for first place head-to-head, winning 54% of attempts highlighted by an impressive 11-14 performance against Utah.
