India emerges through Atmanirbhar: Governor of Goa

Panaji, July 9 (IANS): Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said India’s economy emerged thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat. He was speaking at a reception about the launch of Green Silver Nano particle-treated natural fiber sarees here on Saturday.

The Governor of Goa said that the British plundered the country and even forcibly took our textile technology under the regime. He said that before British rule in India, the country’s share in world trade was 27%, but after the departure of the British in 1947, our country’s share in world trade was only 2% .

Sreedharan Pillai said Swadeshi Jagaran Manch’s idea of ​​self-reliance or Atmanirbhar Bharat is currently being promoted in the country and added that several local entrepreneurs have come up with quality products.

The Governor of Goa has said that while India is currently 5th in the world economy rankings, Britain lags behind in 6th place.

Kanthaswarna Niranjan Kumar received the sari made of natural fibers treated with green silver nanoparticles from the governor of Goa.

Shekar C. from the Anakaputhur Natural Fiber Weavers Group spoke about making sarees and fabrics from natural fibers.

Kanthaswarna Niranjan spoke on the need for Indian government support to natural weavers and other textile clusters in the country and called on the Governor of Goa to take the lead.

Mahesh Krishnamoorthy of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch chaired the meeting while C. Rajeev of the Center for Policy and Development Studies cast a vote of thanks.
