BHUBANESWAR: The State-Level Single Window Customs Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Friday October 1, 2021 approved in principle eight proposals providing for investments of approximately Rs. 1,411.58 crore with opportunities for employment for 2,846 people.

The meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra approved proposals mainly from sectors such as manufacturing, food processing, downstream steel, fertilizers and hospitality. The projects included biomass plants of Bio WMS Pvt Ltd with a total capacity of 19,000 tonnes of Bio-CBG and 29,000 tonnes of liquid CO2 with an investment of Rs 319.25 crore. The project is likely to create employment opportunities for more than 1,250 people. The factories will be located in Angul, Bargarh, Jaipur, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.

In addition, a manufacturing unit for the production of 200 kiloliters of ethanol per day (KLPD) as well as a 6 MW cogeneration plant (CPP) by TPS Breweries and Distilleries Pvt Ltd to be installed in Junagarh in the district of Kalahandi with an investment of Rs 235 crore has been approved. The unit will generate employment opportunities for more than 200 people. A 200 KLPD ethanol plant as well as a 5 MW cogeneration plant to be set up by MGM Biofuels Pvt Ltd in Boudh with an investment of Rs 225.24 crore have also been approved.

Industry Secretary Hemant Sharma said a new nanourea unit with an annual capacity of 33,000 kiloliters per year as well as a bottling plant with a daily capacity of 2,000,000 bottles (500 ml) to be installed by IFFCO in Paradeep have been authorized. The unit will be set up with an investment of Rs 225 crore with employment opportunities for over 200 people.

Likewise, a seawater desalination plant by TATA Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd with a proposed investment of Rs 107 crore, a production unit of chrysotile white fiber cement corrugated sheet by Sahyadri Industries Ltd with an investment of Rs 100 crore in Balasore and a resort hotel by Seascope Infrastructures and Hospitality Pvt Ltd with an investment proposal of Rs 100 crore near Konark have been approved.

The meeting also gave the green light for the expansion of the New Modern Technomech Pvt Ltd project by setting up a 70,000 ton hot-dip galvanized steel structure at Baripada and a proposal from Odisha Concrete Pvt Ltd for the establishment a manufacturing plant for advanced drainage and sewerage system products. in Barang.
