Raúl Jiménez adorns himself in the Wolves history books
Wolves have won their third game in their last four Premier League outings under new manager Bruno Lage today, edging out Steve Bruce’s sinking to Newcastle 2-1 at Molineux.
A brace from RB Leipzig’s summer loan signing Hee-chan Hwang sealed all three points for the Portuguese manager, and the result saw Wolves climb to the top half of the table subject to Arsenal’s results, Tottenham and Leicester City.
But the day belonged to Mexico international Raúl Jiménez, 30, who has come back strong in the current Premier League season after suffering a devastating injury last season when his skull fractured against Arsenal. Jiménez missed 227 days for Wolves, but has featured in every minute of action this quarter.

His assists today in front of home support cemented his name in the Wolves history books when he became the first club player to be directly involved in 50 Premier League goals.

Although his former criminal partner Diogo Jota is no longer plying his trade in the West Midlands, Jiménez remains an incredibly influential figure on the team despite his new leadership.
A nightmare of injuries to forget
“Unfortunately, my first thought was that he was dead. I haven’t seen him react on screen, normally when players fall and get injured you see a reaction, that’s when you know if they’re faking it or not.
But I didn’t see anything, I couldn’t see anything, I couldn’t see his eyes, it was one of the most horrible feelings in life. – Daniela Basso; partner of Raúl Jiménez in quotation marks courtesy of Marca.
For a moment, many thought of the worst when Raúl Jiménez faced David Luiz after 15 minutes of proceedings at the Emirates last season.

Jiménez, who suffered a broken skull that resulted in brain hemorrhage, has been told by doctors that he is lucky to be alive let alone playing the game he loves.
“From the start, they really supported me. The fractured skull has taken a little longer than expected to heal and it truly is a miracle for me to be here with you.
I never thought about ending my career or quitting playing. There was a chance for it, but I was always confident that I would come back. – Raul Jiménez; quotes courtesy of SkySports.
