win: big wins for Wipro

The aerospace activity of Wipro infrastructure engineering (TO WIN) inaugurated the new special processing plant in the Aerospace Special Economic Zone near Bangalore International Airport.

Spread over 25,000 square feet, the plant houses various special processes necessary to manufacture precision machine parts for aerospace applications, WIN said in a statement Monday. The new facility is adjacent to WIN Aeronauticsis the first manufacturing unit that manufactures structural parts and assemblies, hydraulic actuators and landing systems.

In the first phase, the plant will meet special processes required for critical actuator and landing gear parts, WIN said. These include passivation, titanium etching, nital etching, chrome plating, cadmium and zinc-nickel with the ability to process parts up to 1.5 meters in length.

“The installation should get”NADCAP‘certification around December 2021 – January 2022, followed by customer certifications in the first or second quarter of fiscal year 22-23, ”the statement read. WIN Aerospace has announced plans to further expand processing capabilities by adding anodizing, shot blasting and painting facilities in 2022.

CEO, WIN, Pratik Kumar, said: “Once we have obtained all customer qualifications, this facility will not only support our own internal requirements, but will also support the needs of other aerospace components and system players in this region. ”
